We understand that choosing a place to stay, whether it’s for one night or more is something that you should do with confidence. Often, we find a hotel, venue, or visitor attraction online and just hope it will meet our expectations.
At the Ben Mhor hotel, most of our guests visit on the back of personal recommendations of friends and family. For everyone else, we are delighted to provide our customer reviews page. What other people have to say about us matters!
GOOD Based on 319 reviews Millie B2025-01-10Verified Great winter stop! We stayed for 3 days in January and had a really good time. The hotel is great value for money, the room was large, clean and quiet. Food and drinks were good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It has a private, free car park. Grantown is perfect for getting into the hills and has lots of amenities including some good bakeries. This isn’t a luxury hotel but has everything you need - we’d definitely stay again. The staff are brilliant, food was perfect, all communal areas were clean, tidy, maintained, welcoming etc. the only thing I’ve marked down on is there’s a few things in the bedroom that could do with tidying up by a handyman. But really didn’t take away from the stay at all. I’m really happy, would definitely recommend and will be staying again. THANK YOU! Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, great bar and decent food for dinner & breakfast. The location is excellent and it has its own private car park to the rear of the hotel. If you step out of the front door you’re on the high street which has some nice cafes and shops. Martin A2024-11-25Verified An absolute gem ❤️ Came up to the Ben Mhor for a long chill weekend with my Wife and wee dog Haggis. Lovely little Hotel. Room was clean and cosy. Breakfasts were lovely. Food was very good and great prices. Staff were lovely. This hotel has everything you need if your staying in Grantown on Spey. They even had a fantastic comedy night on in their function suite. Will be back, loved it. david m2024-11-18Verified Fantastic stay! Instead, what we got for our £37 was a clean room, friendly, helpful staff and an extremely decent meal that was, like the rooms, very reasonably priced. We needed a room for a Friday night as my husband was taking part in the Dava Way Ultra which started at 7.30am the next day. We arrived at 4.30pm, managing to park directly in front on the hotel and prayed that the traffic wardens weren't still on their travels to enforce the 60min stay restriction that is in play from 9am to 6pm Mon to Sat. There is a carpark, but we couldn't quite find it, although truly, that says more about us than the location of the carpark entrance. We rang the bell and had a short wait for the very busy attendant to arrive at the desk. She was friendly and full of information and very helpful. There was also superb communication from reception on the run up to our stay. The room was mismatched but more importantly, clean. The window was wide open to keep the room fresh so it felt quite cool when we arrived but it soon warmed up. We headed straight down to the bar and were lucky enough to occupy the table right beside the log burner that was lit not long after by a very friendly, chatty, welcoming gent. I was surprised by the volume of choice that was offered on the menu, assuming that it was a small kitchen but the choices are varied and many! What I was also EXTREMELY impressed and appreciative of (because our daughter is a coeliac) is the number of dishes that the hotel offered that could be made GF. Although she wasn't with us on this occasion, it was refreshing to see as she often feels like nuisance when we have to scour meus and ask endless questions in order for her to eat safely. My husband chose the macaroni with sweet potato fries. I decided on the spinach and ricotta cannelloni with chunky chips. Like the hotel, there is no extra fussy garnish etc, you'll get exactly what your ordered. The food arrived piping hot and really tasty. I was delighted to see that the pub was soon bustling with locals who all seemed equally as pleasant as the staff. Also, another big thumbs up for being dog friendly! We would most definitely stay here again. Grant richardsdon2024-11-10Verified Clean ,friendly ,10/10 service I really cannot fault this place , originally booked for 1 night . Firstly i arrived early morning and was allowed to store my luggage before check in , Thankyou Angela, I indulged in a couple of beverages from the bar which were cold and crisp it got quite busy for food at lunch (a good sign) I had cheesy chips (spot on) I then proceeded to check in . I was greeted by Ashley who was most helpful , room was spotless and comfortable. I had a small issue with my radiator and a lovely gentleman knocked on and resolved the issue immediately . I have since booked for an entire week . Antonella M2024-11-04Verified Beautiful experience We had a great time and the owners were super hospitable throughout! The Scots are wonderful! The country deserved to be visited better unfortunately only one touch and run The rooms were cozy...clean and fragrant.... We will be back!
