25 Jul You’ll strike Gold if you Visit the Scottish Highlands in Autumn
The months of September and October are a time of year when you’ll feel and notice changes in the air, especially in the Scottish Highlands, and nowhere more than Grantown on Spey and the Cairngorms region. As the temperature drops, the kids go back to school and evening light begins to fade, you’ll soon understand the magnetic draw of our town and why a hotel stay with us for a few days is nothing short of magical.
As the tourists slowly filter out, you’ll have the walking trails and national parks almost to yourself. The golden colours of autumn spring to life and you’ll enjoy the sound of crunching leaves beneath your feet and the beautiful colours painted by the early evening light. Wildlife is abundant and occasionally you’ll get a glimpse of some red deer, pheasants, and squirrels. If you enjoy your food and drink in Scotland, this time of year we love to serve up some delicious fare prepared using the finest seasonal ingredients. We are happy to recommend some local restaurants and of course we serve some delicious casual bites and local hand-crafted beer at our well known Ben Mhor Bar.
When you stay with us at the Ben Mhor Hotel, you are ideally located for exploring local hidden gems on foot or going further afield to our world famous national park, the Cairngorms natural park, the largest national park in the UK.
Another benefit of travelling to see us this time of year is the better availability of hotel rooms, and sometimes lower rates, making it a very good value mini break. Do consider coming to Grantown on Spey at this time of year, we guarantee you won’t regret it.
